Bad Communication

Ordered lighting 7/22. Back order date keeps getting pushed back with ZERO communication from Capitol. Now the ship date has been pushed to 9/26. I work in customer service as my profession and communication is key for a successful client relationship. They have zero communication skills. Would not order from them again.

One of the worse online ordering and…

One of the worse online ordering and customer service experiences I've ever had. They misrepresent lead times on their website, their supply chain management is horendous, they don't communicate anything (I mean nothing) regarding orders, when you do reach customer service they are also not informed, and if you need a refund get ready for a long ride.

Stay away!

Failure to Rectify a Manufacturing Error

We bought 3 chandeliers There was a lengthy delay (due to supply chain issues) on one of the lights. Due to the minimum cost of service calls by the electrician, I asked customer service if I could return the most expensive chandelier bought from them and rebuy it when the other two chandeliers were delivered, so all three could be installed at once. They said no need to return it; they would mark their records so it could be returned late if there were a problem.
When the electrician tried to hang the largest chandelier, it was lop-sided due to a manufacturing error when the chandelier was assembled in the factory. Capital was able to get us two substitute parts to make the appearance seem normal. However, these parts were a make-do (not the correct size for the chandelier as designed).
We ended up with the bottom ring of the chandelier being 17" inches from the top ring instead of a 20" spacing, as designed. I felt we ended up with a factory second chandelier and we should have received a refund of a substantial part of the original cost of the chandelier as if it were an open box item. Or Capital should have sent a perfect chandelier and paid to remove the factory second and to reinstall a perfect chandelier. Neither was acceptable to Capital.
We now have a factory second chandelier for which we paid a first-quality price.
Customer Service was very good until it came time to rectify the manufacturing error that was beyond our control.
I would not buy from Capital again..

I placed a large order and canceled my order 2 days after placing it. I received a confirmation email that my order was canceled on March 15, 2022. It's been over a month and I still haven't received a refund. I have contacted them several times and they claimed they are in the process of refunding me but I'm still waiting.

Went to Capitol Lighting Eatontown yesterday with my wife and met with Lorrie. She was extremely helpful to us and went over and above to help us select and secure lighting for a house we are building down south

capital lighting review

I live in Delray Beach and needed some extensive lighting consultation and installation. My budget was $30,000. I went to capital lighting told them my situation and they put me in touch with one of their lighting consultants. We made an appointment, she came to our home evaluated our needs and we gave her our input. She said she would work on our request and get back to us with a plan.
five weeks later we have heard nothing. Capital lighting completely ghosted us. I would have appreciated a response even if it was we don’t think we can help you.
This was unprofessional, unacceptable and rude.

Great product selection in every area of a home inside and out. Customer service is excellent and the pricing on items are fair and well within reason. I also love shopping in the SALES category where you find some great buys. Finally, they have many coupons available online. Happy shopping!

I love all the options of lighting at better prices...

I love all the options of lighting at better prices than other websites. I just wish there was more coupons available on the lighting that I wanted. Haha. I was going to wait it out until a 20% off came up for the brand I was wanting to purchase. But now there will be a price increase. So I had to jump on it. And I literally waited until the last day before the increase! I am very excited to get the chandelier I have been eyeing for months!

lampsplus.com - I have had great customer service. I wrote a review on their website. I decided to keep my large light I bought, but there were a few issues with the light bulbs. I got an email later on apologizing for the issue and offered me a credit off my original purchase.
